Middle Managers are critical for driving business success...

Middle Managers are "the economy's last best hope"!

"Investing in middle management might be the smartest and easiest way to increase growth from its current 2.9 percent and back to the days of 7 percent."

- Sam Walker, Deputy Editor at The Wall Street Journal

Middle managers not only play a part in company success, but they are actually the single most important factor in driving productivity.

- Gallup World Poll

Why Middle Managers Matter

Middle managers are the backbone of every organisation -connecting strategy with execution, senior leadership with frontline teams, and vision with results. Yet, they are often overlooked when it comes to leadership development, despite playing a critical role in engagement, performance, and innovation.

A well-developed middle manager can boost productivity, improve team morale, and drive business success by fostering collaboration, streamlining workflows, and making strategic decisions that impact the bottom line. But without the right skills and support, middle managers can become overwhelmed, leading to bottlenecks, disengagement, and burnout.

This is why investing in middle manager development is no longer optional - it’s essential. When middle managers thrive, teams perform better, employees stay longer, and organisations achieve greater results. The Middle Managers Online Muster 2026 is designed to give middle managers the tools, strategies, and community they need to step up, lead with confidence, and make a real impact.

Read People Better to Lead Better

Discover why understanding behaviour is the key to better leadership.

Learn More

In this interview style session, we will explore why so many leadership challenges are people challenges and how DISC offers Middle Managers a practical way to navigate them with greater confidence and

impact.

Rather than a theory heavy overview, this conversation will unpack what DISC actually reveals about behaviour, motivation, communication, and pressure patterns and why that matters commercially. We

will explore how leaders can learn to read behavioural cues more accurately, reduce misinterpretation, and respond with intention rather than assumption.

What changes when a Middle Manager truly understands their own style? What shifts when they can adapt to others more effectively? How does that influence trust, engagement, performance, and

ultimately business results?

This session is designed to build awareness of DISC as a powerful leadership tool that strengthens personal insight, relationship effectiveness, and organisational performance, and to help business

leaders see why investing in this capability delivers measurable return.

Mindspeed Leadership

Leading People and Change in an AI-Driven World

Learn More

Middle Managers sit at the most complex point in modern organisations — translating strategy into action while supporting people through constant change. In today’s AI-integrated workplace, success is no longer about working harder, but about thinking clearer, deciding better, and leading with emotional intelligence.

This session explores how neuroscience, emotional regulation, and practical leadership strategy help managers lead performance, people, and transformation simultaneously. Drawing from research in brain-based leadership, decision science, and emotional intelligence, participants will learn how to optimise cognitive capacity, regulate pressure, and build high-trust teams - even during uncertainty and digital disruption.

The session connects the “mind” of leadership (decision quality, focus, productivity) with the “speed” of leadership (motivation, engagement, psychological safety) - enabling managers to lead sustainable performance in any business environment.

CAN DO Adaptive Leadership

Your Biggest Competitor Isn't AI - It's Your CAN'T DO Inner Voice!

Learn More

Every manager in the room has heard the AI noise. But the real performance killer sitting inside their teams is not ChatGPT. It is the CAN'T DO inner voice that whispers "this is too hard, I am not capable, change is not for me."

Drawing on her CAN DO Adaptive Leadership Framework and her book "From CAN'T to CAN DO," Joni Peddie helps managers identify where CAN'T DO thinking is quietly sabotaging their team's mental clarity, emotional agility, and physical energy - and how to silence it for good.

Practical, neuroscience-backed, and refreshingly honest, this session gives managers the tools to become the voice their teams need most - the one that drowns out CAN'T DO and leads people forward with confidence, capability, and a whole lot of CAN DO energy.

In today’s AI-driven workplace, insight is no longer the differentiator. Participants will learn how to position ideas for buy-in, align early with decision-makers, and translate insight into action across the organization.

Through practical frameworks and real-world examples, this session equips middle managers to navigate competing expectations, increase their visibility, and accelerate their impact. Attendees will

Stop Shoulding

It's time to stop 'shouldn' on yourself.

Learn More

If you stop for a few moments and listen closely to that voice in your head, notice how much that voice used the word 'should'. Do you hear it? 75% of our self-talk is negative and should contributes to that ... A LOT!

"I should have gone into the office."

"I should have finished that report by now."

"I should have stopped at one!"

I should ... I should ... I should ...

Should is a parent word and when our inner parent speaks, our inner child can rebel. Even when we mean well with shoulds shuch as, "I should speak up more" and "I should ask for that raise". The language doesn't empower positive action. It's time to switch it up and invite your adult in to that conversation you're having in your head.

In this session, Sally will help you identify your shoulds, replace them with positive, empowering and authentic words that will shift your self-limiting beliefs.

Ubuntu for the Squeezed Middle

Helping teams find each other again in world of change, pressure and disconnection.

Learn More

Middle managers are often caught in the middle. Leaders above them want results. Team members below them need support. At the same time, they are managing change, solving problems, handling difficult conversations, and trying to keep everyone moving in the same direction. It can feel like being squeezed from both sides.

When pressure builds, people can become disconnected. Trust begins to fade and teams work harder but not always better. Conversations become shorter and collaboration becomes harder. People can

begin to feel alone, even when surrounded by others.

In this session, Alfred Chidembo shares lessons from Ubuntu, the African philosophy that says, "I am because you are, you are because I am." Through stories, practical insights, and simple leadership habits,

you'll discover how to rebuild trust, strengthen relationships, and create teams where people feel seen, valued, and connected.

Because the real job of a middle manager isn't just getting work done.

It's helping people find each other again.

About Alfred Chidembo

A PhD scientist turned people and culture leader, he combines evidence-based thinking with the African philosophy of Ubuntu: "I am because you are." She will explore common hidden barriers neurodivergent professionals face, how these can show up in communication, productivity, feedback, meetings, sensory needs and performance conversations, and what managers can do differently.

managers feeling they need to be experts or get everything perfect!

DELEGATE:

Double the Results!

Halve the Effort!

Learn More

Delegation is one of the most misunderstood leadership skills. Too often, managers hold onto tasks because it's quicker, easier, or they believe no one else can do it as well. The result? Overwhelm, bottlenecks, disengaged team members, and leaders who become the biggest barrier to their own success.

In this session, leadership expert and author Sally Foley-Lewis shares the common delegation traps that keep managers stuck and introduces a simple framework for delegating with greater confidence, clarity, and accountability. Learn how to identify what should be delegated, match tasks to the right people, and avoid the costly habit of taking work back when things don't go perfectly.

Take-away practical strategies you can implement immediately to free up time, develop capability within their team, and shift from being the person who does the work to the leader who grows others to do it.

The Cultural Bridge

How Middle Managers Navigate Differences with Cultural Intelligence

Learn More

Middle managers are not just responsible for managing performance. In today’s multicultural workplace, they are also expected to manage different expectations about communication, decision-making,

timelines, and what “good work” looks like. They are usually the first to notice when cultural differences create daily misalignment within teams, and they are close enough to leadership to influence how those differences are addressed.

This session explores the unique role of middle managers as cultural bridges between leadership expectations and team realities. We will discuss why Cultural Intelligence is an essential leadership capability, how culture shows up in everyday workplace situations, and what managers can do to build

trust, resilience, and cultural safety across diverse teams.

Using real examples, we will share actionable tools and a strategic framework to help managers identify cultural gaps, adapt their approach when needed, and turn cultural diversity into stronger collaboration.
