In the work I’ve done with teams across many industries and countries there are some common struggles that almost every team has:

  • Not sure how to prioritise their work, and when to stop and re-prioritse.
  • Working long hours, that lead to prolonged fatigue that leads to poor, delayed and costly output or quality of work.
  • Not speaking up early when issues arise, often stating:
    • “I don’t want to be blamed for this problem.”
    • “Surely I can work this out.”
    • “I don’t want to look like a failure.”
  • Procrastinating because they don’t know where to start, or don’t see the task as their responsibility.
  • Not actively participating in performance conversations because they don’t see it as an opportunity for development.
  • Not clear and confident of what’s expected of them.

Teams engage me when they are having communication and conflict issues; when they are struggling to shift from individuals working on their personal career goals to a cohesive team aligned to the organisation’s goal.

What keeps employees awake at night is the fear of failing, the sense of maybe not being cut out for work assigned to them, not meeting their KPI’s, numbers or organisational expectations. Maybe they realise the work is not what they thought it would be and feel trapped in a job they don’t want. They also fear letting their boss and other team members down and feel stuck between asking for help and not feeling as though they can ask for the help they need to be productive contributors to the team and the organisation.

Without awareness, skills and focus, results will never reflect the desired level of productivity. It’s about working more effectively within the team, getting the work done, understanding the team members better so they can collaborate and contribute more effectively: greater self and team INSIGHT

Productive teams stop reacting and maintain focus on the work and the goals, RESOLVING to park non-relevant ideas, respectfully challenge assumptions, seek to understand before pushing to be understood.

Productive teams are DISCERNING about how they work together to achieve the more effective and efficient outcomes. This includes working on building their interpersonal communication skills, understanding conflict and how to minimise destructive conflict, giving and receiving feedback.

Productive teams ACHIEVE their goals through planning, prioritising their work, identifying potential road blocks early and working together as a team not a group. Understanding group dynamics and group roles helps boost productivity.

Instead of ‘just getting by’, productive teams are prolific and are constantly adding value to the rest of the team, the department and the business, that is, they have the time, energy and focus to find way to PROSPER personally and for the business.

Are your teams getting in the way of their own productivity?

What areas of your team need deeper self-awareness?

What more value could your team be achieving by assessing the way they work?

Which relationships need greater focus for improved productivity?

Benefits of the Productive Team Workshop include:

Sally coached me while I was establishing my business. I could not speak more highly of the mentoring and advice that she provided during this process. Sally is firm and focused when needed, yet always supportive. She is exceptionally well qualified as a coach, both professionally and personally, and her ethical approach to business relationships is, to me, one of Sally’s defining qualities. Her personal warmth and wonderful attitude instill confidence in making career decisions based on integrity and self-reflection. Sally is a gifted coach and mentor and most definitely ‘walks the talk’. A. Heller, Manager.

Sean Grabbelaar, Retail Manager & Start Up Entrepreneur

It was a pleasure to work with Sally Foley-Lewis on a project where Sally organised over 120 attendees for a training seminar with four speakers. Sally’s approach was professional, supportive, friendly and informative before, during and after the event. Sally ran the seminar and her approach as a MC was of the highest of standards.

Adrienne McLean, Helping Professionals Get More Clients

Sally was the MC and presented at a skills forum where I was also presenting. Sally’s engagement with the participants was a delight to watch and equally to experience. The content of her session was high quality and demanded attention. Her humour and warmth made her presentation very memorable.

Frances Cahill, Elevator Pitch Polisher | Wordsmith

Sally Foley-Lewis coordinated an excellent Resilience, Confidence & Self-Esteem Seminar for a large group of public speakers. I recommend Sally as a leader who is supportive, informative and highly professional.

Charmaine Burke, Training Director, Art of Communicating

I was so pleased and honoured that you accepted our invitation to present as the opening keynote speaker. I knew your presentation would be engaging and thought provoking – but you completely exceeded any expectations with regards to your humour, candid approach and the quality and depth of the information you provided.
