P&M 42: Finance for the Non-Financial Manager

So many managers are promoted into the management role without the support, development and skilling up to tackle all aspects of the manager’s role. This includes handling basic financial matters – team / department budgets, project budgets, costing and procurement. This issue is amplified even more for business owners.

In this episode of People and Management, we hear from Chinmay Ananda who makes financial fun! He helps the non-financial professionals get to grips with financials in a simple and effective way.

Chinmay’s Background

Chinmay Ananda is Financial Educator and Pricing Strategist at Finance Academy Australia. His mission is to help people in business to make more money than they spend.

He is the proud owner of six failed businesses. He’s proud to have failed so many times, as it spurred him to find out the reasons why. Researching hundreds of businesses and understanding what caused them to fail, he soon launched Finance Academy.
Over the past five years, Chinmay has trained and consulted 700 business owners and non-financial managers in corporate, government and family businesses, to help them feel empowered to make profitable decisions based on facts and not on mere assumptions. Increasing financial literacy is at the cornerstone of what he does.

He is known for the research on hundreds of failed businesses to discover ‘Two Common Finance Mistakes made in Business’ which he has presented to the Australian Taxation Office, Certified Practising Accountants (CPA), Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, Business Schools, and various Industry Associations and Councils.
In 2016 he received the prestigious Kerrie Nairn Scholarship for public speaking by Professional Speakers Association.

Chinmay’s Book FUNdamentals of Financial Statements is Amazon’s Best Seller. Written by a non-accountant, the content in this book has been researched, tested and presented over the last five years to make business finance FUN to learn!

Sally’s approach was professional, supportive, friendly and informative before, during and after the event. Sally ran the seminar and her approach as a MC was of the highest of standards.

Adrienne McLean, Helping Professionals Get More Clients

Sally was the MC and presented at a skills forum where I was also presenting. Sally’s engagement with the participants was a delight to watch and equally to experience. The content of her session was high quality and demanded attention. Her humour and warmth made her presentation very memorable.
