How much do your meetings cost you?
Do the math: add up the following:
Your hourly rate x number of hours spent preparing for, running/attending, following up a meeting
Resources you used: room, technology, paperwork, refreshments, travel …
Hourly rate of all attendees x number of hours spent preparing for, attending, following up a meeting
- One US study calculate that the average meeting costs $658, not including travel.
- Add to this other statistic from another another piece of research: 91% of those interviewed admitted to daydreaming during meetings!
This all paints a fairly dim image of meetings being productive!
