Becoming the leader or manager of a team does not automatically come with the skills to delegate, give effective feedback and drive performance and boost team engagement for greater productivity. To achieve all that, the manager needs to learn and then master keys skills:

✓ Productivity, Personal Effectiveness and Time Management

✓ Delegating

✓ Feedback

✓ Interpersonal Communication

✓ Engagement and Motivation

✓ Team Roles and Team Building

✓ Conflict Resolution

✓ Influence

✓ Self-Leadership

All these skills boost productivity: the leader’s, the team’s and the organisation’s.

Managers often feel isolated or lonely, often unsure if they’ve made the right decisions or a risky one.

They can lack confidence to handle tough or difficult situations because of a perceived backlash if something goes wrong.

They are more often than not caught in the middle between staffing issues and senior management pressures?

MODULES

Each module is conducted over two sessions to ensure actions are implemented, outcomes reflected and learning is embedded.

Silver: Select three modules

Gold: All six modules

Module 1 – Setting Up for Success

Self-Awareness and setting up for success involves self-assessment, personal productivity audits and setting intentions for building skills and management success. Exploring management and leadership and what it means to you is important for setting the taking on the steps in the program: you’ll identify your own leadership style. This session may include setting up for a 360Degree feedback assessment.  As this session is all about setting the scene it will take approx 2 hours.

For Gold: setting objectives for leadership project

Module 2 – Interpersonal and Management Communication

Building successful interpersonal and management communication skills: listening, quality questions, language, and communication styles. It’s all about how you communicate! This applies to you and your staff, senior leaders, peers, stakeholders, customers and suppliers. The essentials of successful communication. Communicating to influence, negotiate and lead.

Module 3 – Delegation, Setting and Interpreting Expectations

Setting and interpreting expectations: there’s a real skill to setting clear expectations. When your team doesn’t deliver to the standard
you expected, there’s a problem and it might be in your process of setting expectations. Interpreting expectations is often a struggle for the busy manager and leader. We will look at how to translate for success.  Delegating for development, delight and de-stress. Why you need to slow down to get more done.

Module 4 – Feedback and Performance Management

Giving feedback can be like having your teeth pulled without the painkillers – ouch! And that’s for both the feedback giver and receiver! You’ll explore why things go wrong in feedback and other difficult conversations and how to make them highly effective, and even enjoyable! Using EECC to save you time and sanity. The conversation, the annual review and the paperwork.

– Resource: Success Feedback

Module 5 – Difficult People and Situations

No more pulling your hair out in frustration! You’ll learn skills to handle difficult people, employees, and situations. Problem solving and decision-making skills plus confidence are keys to handling some tough times. Your problems, our solutions. Problem solving and decision making tools

Module 6 – Team and Self-Motivation, Self-Management & Self-Leadership + Project Report + Graduation

Exploring what it really means to have a highly motivated team and to be in control of your own motivation through the good times and the challenging times. As the program comes to a close, you’ll identify what your next steps are for you personally, professionally and for your business and how you’ll action them. We finish with recognising your journey through celebrating your graduation.

– Gold only: Leadership Project Report

Screen Shot 2014-10-01 at 1.52.25 pm

Think of these statistics this way:

  • Do you want to improve your work performance by 70%?
  • Do you want the business to run better by another 61%?
  • What would another 57% of improved time management mean to you?
  • How would an extra 51% of improved team effectiveness impact your bottom line?

You SHOULD participate in the coaching program if you are a:

  • business owner, manager and leader who has to, or will soon, manage staff.
  • business owner who spends more time dealing with your staff or department managers hassles than building and growing your business.
  • leader or manager who’s been promoted into management for the first time.
  • leader or manager who has their time and productivity stolen by handling people problems rather than getting on with your own work.
  • leader or manager who has not had any formal training in people management skills.
  • leader or manager who has not participated in any training or seminar for personal and professional development in the last 12 – 18 months.

You should NOT participate in the program if you are:

  • any one who has no intention of leading and managing staff.
  • any one who has reached their full potential and does not want to further develop themselves personally or professionally.
  • any one who doesn’t like to learn, be challenged nor have fun.

Sean Grabbelaar, Retail Manager & Start Up Entrepreneur

It was a pleasure to work with Sally Foley-Lewis on a project where Sally organised over 120 attendees for a training seminar with four speakers. Sally’s approach was professional, supportive, friendly and informative before, during and after the event. Sally ran the seminar and her approach as a MC was of the highest of standards.

Adrienne McLean, Helping Professionals Get More Clients

Sally was the MC and presented at a skills forum where I was also presenting. Sally’s engagement with the participants was a delight to watch and equally to experience. The content of her session was high quality and demanded attention. Her humour and warmth made her presentation very memorable.

Frances Cahill, Elevator Pitch Polisher | Wordsmith

Sally Foley-Lewis coordinated an excellent Resilience, Confidence & Self-Esteem Seminar for a large group of public speakers. I recommend Sally as a leader who is supportive, informative and highly professional.

Charmaine Burke, Training Director, Art of Communicating

I was so pleased and honoured that you accepted our invitation to present as the opening keynote speaker. I knew your presentation would be engaging and thought provoking – but you completely exceeded any expectations with regards to your humour, candid approach and the quality and depth of the information you provided.
